As the Pop-Life exhibition arrives in
Hamburg, so does Milly Thompson. Often referenced for
her former collaborations, Thompson the perpetual self-doubter,
presents us with QUIXOTIC SAUSAGE SCENARIO. At least thirty
metres of extra large, three tone sausage balloons, strung
and hung, then doused with German mustard and delicately
dusted with fine silver glitter. The string sheepishly
snails from its proud monumental arrangement on the first
day to a retreated double curl on the second. Is Thompson
showing us two sides to the way she feels about herself?
One that she wants to be and the other what she fears
she is. |
