First resident Babak Ghazi utilises the redundant Caribic bar
and installs a set of eight boxfiles, each containing an individual
work. A list of names is displayed on the bar as a menu. On
request, Ghazi presents a boxfile for viewing, encouraging a
social exchange and combining the function of a serving bar
and the process of viewing art.
On day two of the residency, Ghazi projects a screensaver with
a collection of images of the infamous New York 80’s club
kid, Michael Alig. Fading, blending and mixing, the images randomly
move through the rise and fall of a legendary Party Monster. |
