Winner of the Caribic Residency Open Submission, performance
artist, film maker, art school professor and painter Brian Dawn
Chalkley enchants the Frankfurt audience with a 55 minute strip
tease, whilst miming to the greatest hits of Doris Day. Chalkley
is accompanied by a young male assistant, formally dressed,
who throughout the duration of the performance holds aloft an
open umbrella, whilst holding the undressing Chalkley’s
clothes.
The second evening once again witnesses Chalkley exposing a
politics of gender, in a highly personal recital of Brian Dawn’s
Manifesto of a tranny. The residency is concluded with
a photo signing session for the spellbound fans eager for more,
more, more. |
