Resident 11: BRIAN DAWN CHALKLEY 'Dawn in Wonderland' Freitag 17. 2009 April 20h Samstag 18. 2009 April 20h Stoltzestr. 7-9, 60311 Frankfurt/Main Winner of the Caribic Residency Open Submission, performance artist, film maker, art school professor and painter Brian Dawn Chalkley enchants the Frankfurt audience with a 55 minute strip tease, whilst miming to the greatest hits of Doris Day. Chalkley is accompanied by a young male assistant, formally dressed, who throughout the duration of the performance holds aloft an open umbrella, whilst holding the undressing Chalkley’s clothes. The second evening once again witnesses Chalkley exposing a politics of gender, in a highly personal recital of Brian Dawn’s Manifesto of a tranny.
